Your in the right place.
Art is everywhere here in Reno-Tahoe. In fact, the entire month of July is dedicated to a community-wide event called Artown! In virtually every corner of the region you'll find great art by local artists in dozens of galleries, on stages, in our parks and buildings, and sometimes way, way out in the desert.
Here are a few highlights that will help you get your arts and culture fix while here.

When you're in Reno, you won't want to miss the Nevada Museum of Art, located in the heart of downtown. The NMA has hosted world-renowned exhibits by Rembrandt, Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo and Ansel Adams, to name a few. Plus the building is a work of art in and of itself – you have to see it for yourself.
If you're here at the tail end of summer and don't mind camping in the desert or getting playa dust up your nose, then Burning Man might be for you. Each year thousands of "Burners" from around the world trek to the Black Rock desert an hour and a half north of Reno and build some of the most amazing temporary sculpture and installation pieces you're likely to see. So head up to the playa, shed your clothes and gawk at the work and the people.
Don't forget about the performing arts.

If you think all the world's a stage, see what's playing at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. Also home to the Reno Philharmonic, the Pioneer hosts touring Broadway shows and concerts. Right across the street, the Brüka Theater is home to more avant-garde fare in an intimateshop-front space. Or head to Carson City, our state capital, and check out the Brewery Arts Center offering more than 130 cultural events every year.
Lake Tahoe offers even more to feast your eyes on than its crystal clear blue waters. Almost every weekend throughout the summer you'll find some art event or concert. Shakespeare at Tahoe, the Lake Tahoe Festival of Fine Arts in South Lake and the Lake Tahoe Music Festival are some of many.
