TRUCKEE MEADOWS COMMUNITY COLLEGE has been the “Opportunity College” of Northern Nevadans for 35 years. From its humble beginning in 1971 with 172 students on the old Stead Air Force Base, TMCC has grown to serve over 12,000 students each semester at five campuses and learning centers. Over 100,000 dreams have started here.
The realization of these dreams and the successful growth of the college are due in large part to the generous response of local businesses, organizations and individuals. From scholarships to capital projects, our benefactors have enabled TMCC to respond to the needs of our community.
THE COLLEGE PROVIDES ACCESS FOR LIFELONG LEARNING opportunities to improve the quality of life for our diverse community. TMCC creates a supportive, intellectually and culturally dynamic environment.
ENROLLMENT HAS ALSO FEULED THE GROWTH OF OUR FACILITIES. In the last four years, the college opened its Meadowood Center, housing outreach programs for special populations and the Workforce Development and Continuing Education division. On the Dandini Campus, TMCC opened the V. James Eardley Student Center to provide one-stop student support services and classroom instruction. In 2004, TMCC opened the Nell J. Redfield Foundation Performing Arts Center on Keystone Avenue and received four acres of land for a new education center in Spanish Springs. Lastly, in fall 2005, the college opened the Redfield Campus with the University of Nevada.
TMCC expects continued growth in the region, in enrollment and in building dreams in northern Nevada. If you would like more information regarding the TMCC campus or curriculum you can call 775-673-7000 or visit the Truckee Meadows Comunity College website.
